VAT 86 is made from lambic that comes from Foeder 86.
VAT 86 is made half with new (2016) staves and halkf with old staves.
With this combination VAT 86 is characterized by touches of woodcaramel as in cognac, smokey vanilla-arcmas and aromas of peaches and tropical fruit.
Frank Boon bought the 100 year old farm brewery in 1975 and pioneered the Lambic revival in Belgium. The Lambic made is blended, aged and flavoured to make beers of astonishing quality that are adored all over the world.
